glam pumpkins

It is, unfortunately, a job hazard in my line of work that I am unable to actually enjoy holidays when they happen. What I mean is that now, a week before Halloween, I am totally over Halloween because I'm in the midst of planning for Christmas at work. I'm pretty excited about our new windows which I will be doing in two weeks, and while I can't give away any secrets now I can't wait to share them with you when they're done! Anyway, these lovely glittery pumpkin candle holders from Twig & Thistle for Better Homes & Gardens are enough to make me rethink this whole "over Halloween" thing just long enough to run to Michael's for some foam pumpkins and some glitter.

The Knitted Mile

This project from Robyn Love involved 90 knitters from across North America, and lots and lots of yarn donated by Lion Brand Yarn. After being laid out on the streets, the piece was installed in the gallery Grey Matter along with photos of the contributing knitters. This all happened back in 2008, so why is this the first I am hearing of it? Apparently she also has something big planned for the NYC Maker Fair next weekend, so stay tuned for that!

4/15/2010

I love Japanese masking tape! It has been all over the place (with the unfortunate exception of my personal possession) and I just can't get enough of it.

It comes in pretty much any color and pattern you can imagine, but my current faves are pretty Spring pastels, stripes, and delicate floral patterns. But hey, if you're offering, I'll take what I can get!
You know, in case you were wondering.

But the real point of this post was to say how excited I am about the free Japanese masking tape clipart download from pugly pixel (a new favorite, for realzies). I used it to make that lovely Pretty Tape logo at the top of the post, and I'm busy trying to figure out other uses for it. Let me know if you come up with something good!
