I recently took a little day trip to NYC via train, and took some photos to document my trip of course. Train could easily become my favorite method of travel for a while. It's so much more relaxing than flying, and the scenery! While I must admit the east coast by train may not be the most attractive trip (let's be honest), it is at the very least interesting. It makes you want to just look around and see what's around you. Now maybe my next trip should be through some mountains or farms for a taste of something different, but for now I bring you the East Coast.

Photo A Day
day #15 happiness
day #16 morning
day #17 water
day #18 something I bought
day #19 sweet
day #20 someone I love
day #21 reflection
I have been having a little bit of a hard time keeping up with the photo a day, and not always getting them in quite on time, but I'm not giving up! I am determined to see this thing through! I am currently caught up, so let's see if I can keep it going for the remainder of the month.

Photo a Day
day #8 sky
day #9 daily routine
day #10 childhood
day #11 where I sleep
day #12 close-up
day #13 in my bag
day #14 something I'm reading
Read a little more about what the heck this Photo a Day thing is anyway, right over here.
And by the way, I have finished reading The Lives and Loves of Daisy and Violet Hilton. It only took a couple of weeks, which may not be fast by anyone's standards but my own. But in my defense it was a pretty big book and I don't have a whole lot of free time. But boy when I did I devoured that thing. There is some disturbing content and it's not an altogether happy story, but quite amazing, fascinating, and true. So do what you will with that information.

#photoaday
So I have decided to participate in a little thing called the January Photo a Day Challenge. There is a list of topics and you take a photo every day to go with each topic. The list is as follows.
I picked up on this challenge a little late, so I started on Day 4.

instagram book
This might be kind of lame, but I REALLY want to make one of these little instagram books!
They're simple, cute, and affordable. I can't think of any reason not to make some except that it might prove very difficult to narrow down the pictures I want to put in it! In my brain I'm coming up with all kinds of different reasons to make them. Wedding books, vacation books, probably (almost certainly if I can remember a year from now) a first anniversary book.
The possibilities are endless, people!
What kind of book would YOU make?

Springtime walk
I am so loving the warm weather these days (except for nights/mornings when it's still only 40 degrees. one of these days I'm hoping to pack away my winter comforter, but not quite yet). So today I decided to actually leave the store on my lunch break (ok fine, I had to go buy food anyway because we haven't been to the grocery store this week to buy lunches. But I then decided to stay out for the whole hour, so yay!) and I took a little walk around the neighborhood. I should do this much more often because apparently people think that because you work somewhere you know where everything within a 30 mile radius is. Don't know where this restaurant is? Well don't you work here? But rather than take on the task of familiarizing myself with local businesses I just took in some scenery instead.
All of these photos were taken within the single block where I work. I didn't even cross the street.
I do love this town.

VA State Fair
I do realize I told you all that we would be going to the state fair last weekend, but due to unbearable traffic we had a slight change of plans and went today instead (yes, that means we missed Crafty Bastards but all things considered I think this was the better choice.) We looked like silly tourists stopping to get photos of food stands and inflatable toys, we ate way too much crappy food, watched a very entertaining family circus the youngest member was 7 years old and very impressive!), enjoyed the local arts and crafts, smelled some animals, and so much more.
Be warned: this post contains a lot of photos. Because I just didn't know how to limit myself. There is so much to share! And I apologize if you're getting hit with this multiple times, through flickr, facebook, and the blog, but really who can complain when there's so much fun to be had.
Hope you're having an inspiring weekend and enjoying October!
